Welcome to our Support Group, Special Children - Special Blessings!
We are Christian parents of children with developmental, physical and
educational disabilities. Locally we are members of Christian Family
Schools of San Diego. Nationally, we are members of NATHHAN.
Our Purpose:
We meet every other month throughout the year, for the purpose of
prayer, fellowship, and sharing information/resources. We seek to
encourage one another during times of sorrow, discouragement and crises;
and to rejoice with thanksgiving to God, over answered prayers and
victories, big and little in the lives of our families.
We collectively share resource information and education regarding
alternatives to government programs and school district services
regarding physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and
curriculum choices.
Our Vision:
To seek the Lord's direction in all theses special needs areas, through
parent support, encouragement, prayer and education. To pray for our
children, their health and growth in all areas, and for all those who
care for them, medical personnel for wisdom and kindness, for our famlies
and friends to be understanding and helpful, for our churches and
Christian communities to see our children as a ministry opportunity from
the Lord. It is our desire through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ
and the encouragement of this support group that God will use our families
and our special children as HIS light in this dark world.
Meeting Schedule:
We meet for food, fun and fellowship on a Saturday night during the
months of September, November, January, March and May. In July we have a
Family Pool or Beach Party!
Family Night Format:
Bring your whole family and join us for a potluck dinner. Following the
meal there will be a fun time of singing, a short devotional or a
speaker/presentation, then it is playtime for the children and
fellowship/prayer and praise time for the parents.
